THROWER-Alvie, age 85, Bellevue, NE, November 20, 2008. Alvie was a recepient of WWII Victory Medal and Distinguished Flying Cross; Retired USAF; Glider Pilot Area Commander; owned and operated 8-11 in Bellevue; Capehart, Papillion (1965-1995); built and operated Bellevue Queen (1970-1973); President Bellevue East Booster Club, Chartered the UNL Wrestling Booster Club; President of Metro Youth Wrestling; Nebraska Scholastic Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame (2004); Huskerland Wrestling Association Hall of Fame (2002); Bellevue Leader Person of the Year (1996); Admiral of the the Great Navy of the State of Nebraska (2000); Bellevue Junior Sports founder and director (1975-Nov.2008). Survived by wife, Phyllis; children, Pamela and Jeff, Pola and David, Mark and Latonia, Tracey and Ken, Todd and Christine, Rodd and Roxane; grandchildren, Drew and Debbie, Shane, Mark, Brian, Chase, Jessica, Jason, Jared, Mariah, Dezirae, Syrena, Alvie (“AJ”), Sydney, Austin; great grandchildren, Taylor; Sadie, Sam. Memorial Service Wednesday, November 26th, 11am at BJSA; 1001 High School Dr., Bellevue. In lieu of flowers, Memorials to Bellevue Junior Sports Association or to the family.
