FRENCHCarol A., age 73 years, Omaha. Preceded in death by best friend: Jerry Plack; mother: Ruby French; sisters: Juna Hurley, Alice Galvin, Helen Lofing, Maxine Lyle, Connie Foley; brothers: Bill French and Bob French. Survived by 32 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and great nephews. Carol graduated from Central High in Omaha; earned a B.S. from UNL, and M.A. from New York University and an Ed.D. from the University of Toledo. She spent 22 years teaching in the Nebraska Public Schools and then was hired as a professor at the University of Minnesota from which she retired. She enjoyed extensive traveling with her friend, Jerry Plack, and their two miniature schnauzers. She was also a superior athlete and excelled at tennis, bowling, basketball, softball, and golf. Throughout her participation she was awarded many trophies and medals. Carol also gained much pleasure from her garden and bird sanctuary along with her well-kept lawn and landscaped areas with many trees, shrubs, and flowers.
