Charles A. Johnson

JOHNSON, Charles A., Oct 17, 1929 – Oct 15, 2011. BLAIR, Neb. Chuck, or as he was variously known during life, Charlie, Buck, or Red, was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mary and Dr. Aldis A. Johnson and his brother Aldis. Chuck graduated from Doane College in Crete, Nebraska and lived with his wife and son outside of Blair, Nebraska. For thirty-five years Chuck worked for the Omaha Public Power District in Residential Sales and Customer Service. Chuck was active in the Omaha Rose Society and several environmental organizations. He was formerly president of the Omaha Audubon Society, chairperson of the Missouri Valley Sierra Club, as well as a member of the board of directors of the Nebraska Wildlife Federation. Chuck was also an avid sports fan, especially a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. Go Cards! Chuck is survived by his wife Mary Ann, his son Bill, his daughter-in-law Susan Romano, and his grandson Joel Johnson. Chuck’s humor and good spirit will be missed. VISITATION begins Friday, 3pm, with family receiving friends 6pm to 8pm at the West Center Chapel. SERVICES Saturday, 12noon, West Center Chapel. Interment, Memorial Park Cemetery in Council Bluffs. Memorials are suggested to the Nebraska Wildlife Federation.
