Charles S. Monico

MONICO-Charles S. “Charlie”, age 93 years, died July 8, 2007. Charlie was a lifetime member of the 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus, Council 652 and Sir Knight in the Michael P. Dowling 4th Degree Assembly. He was a dedicated volunteer at St. Joseph Villa for 20 years. Preceded in death by wives, Benna (Moscrey) and Catherine (Egyed); parents, Sam and Concetta Monico; brother, Jack Monico; sister, Grace Uzarski; brothers-in-law, Steve Uzarski, Carl Morello, Edward Choyeske, Andrew Egyed, Henry Metz, Al Klamt, George Egyed, Ted Moscrey, Frank Moscrey; sisters-in-law, Teresa Monico, Marie Egyed, Betty Egyed, Frances Klamt, Augustina Moscrey, Augusta Moscrey. Survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Chuck and Kathy Monico, Jerry and Kathy Monico; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Dennis Schafer, Mary Jane and Gary Herron; grandchildren and spouses, Chuck and Marlo Monico, Lisa and Joe Kalamaja, Andrea Monico, Greg and Rachael Monico, Michelle and Dave Maher, Christine Monico, Tony Monico and Catie Monico; six great-grandchildren, sisters and brothers-in-law, Louise Morello, Minnie Choyeske, Nettie and John Belsky, Rich Moscrey; sisters-in-law, Anna Metz, Ann Marie Egyed, Rosaline Moscrey; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral Service Thursday 9:15 a.m. at the West Center Chapel to St. Joseph Church, 1723 S. 17 St, for Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery. Military Honors by Benson VFW Post No. 2503. Visitation begins Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at the West Center Chapel with a Wake Service at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to St. Joseph Parish or to the Mary Catherine McCauley Center for Women and Families, 613 N. 17 St., Omaha, NE 68102
