Mary Beth Coate Jan 26, 1942 – Sep 24, 2015 Preceded in death by parents, James Henry and Monica Louise (Sondag) Petersen. Survived by husband, Arthur H. Coate; children: Janeen Marie Render (Jacob), Teresa Ann Van Dorston (Chad), and Catherine Louise Coate; 5 grandchildren: Christopher Adamson (Jenna), Lisa Jean Render, Patrick Arthur Render, Otto Henry Van Dorston, and Leo Edward Van Dorston; brother, James Petersen (Linda). The family will receive friends Monday, September 28th, from 5pm to 7pm, with VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm, all at the West Center Chapel. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL Tuesday, September 29th at 10:30am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Interment, Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Mercy High School or St. Thomas More Parish.

Mrs. Coate was my favorite teacher. She has been my inspiration in getting my doctorate and pursuing chemistry. I’m saddened that I didn’t realize she had passed away. My love to her family.
