Cynthia Renee Obrecht, age 54, of Council Bluffs, Iowa passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Mercy Hospital Council Bluffs, Iowa. Cynthia was born May 8, 1960 in Missouri Valley, Iowa to Merlyn and Sandra (Shepard) Singbeil. Cynthia graduated from St. Paul High School in St Paul, Nebraska. Cynthia resided in Grand Island, Nebraska, Ord, Nebraska, Scotia, Nebraska and Council Bluffs, Iowa for 18 Years. She married Ronald Obrecht August 6, 1999 in Council Bluffs Iowa. She was a cook at the Mid America Center and at Bluffs Run. In her spare time she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. Cynthia will be greatly missed by many. Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; father-in-law Donald Obrecht, cousin Byran Shepard. Survivors include her husband Ronald Obrecht of Council Bluffs, Iowa, daughter: Katrina Williams and husband Steve, son; Brandon Obrecht of Council Bluffs, Iowa: step-sons; Mitch Obrecht of Carter Lake, Iowa, Martin Obrecht of Omaha, Nebraska, Kyle Obrecht of Huntersville, North Carolina, Jason Obrecht of Atlantic, Iowa, mother in law; Mildred Obrecht of Missouri Valley, Iowa; five grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa. In lieu of flowers memorials to be directed to the family.
