Dathan H. (Rabbit) Stokes, age 73 of Honey Creek, Iowa passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Jennie Edmunson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was born February 6, 1940 in Auburn, Nebraska to Cleburne and Bernice (McCann) Stokes He graduated from Tech High School in Omaha Nebraska and he worked for Thacker Electric as an Electrician. He enjoyed riding motorcycles. Dathan is survived by his loving family and friends. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa. The family would like to invite everyone to dinner at the Airplane Inn in Honey Creek, Iowa after the service.

I’ve been doing ancestry work and found out that my dad, Jackie Darrell Wieland, was a son of Bernice McCann prior to Dathan, when Bernice was 19 years old. Jackie was put up for adoption in Omaha in 1935.
