Donald Vignaroli

VIGNAROLI-Donald, age 63, of Omaha, passed 8/14/07 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Moran, IA, Don graduated college as a dedicated Hawkeye fan from the University of Iowa just before honorably serving during the Vietnam war. After being discharged from the Army, Don began his 41 year career at Northern Natural Gas as a Financial Analyst. A devoted family man, Don is survived by his wife, Carol; 5 children, Jeff (Cheri) Callen, of Ralston, Ken Callen and Stephane (Andy) Reynolds, of Omaha, Bill Callen, Austin, TX, and Amie Vignaroli, of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Zachary, Seth, Mackenzie, Shawn, and Samantha Callen, of Ralston, and Jayden Reynolds, of Omaha; sister, Rena Johnston, Aurora, IL; brother, Richard Vignaroli, of Grange, IA; many nieces, nephews, extended family and an endless list of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Lena; brother, Frankie, all of Granger, IA. Don dedicated time raising money for the American Heart Assoc, American Cancer Society and UNO Athletics. He was one of the greatest soccer fans in all of Omaha and the UNO Women’s Soccer team will dedicate their 2007 season to Don, for a second time. The family requests all donations be made to help establish a memorial to the UNO Women’s Soccer Scholarship Fund to be given in his name for years to come. FUNERAL MASS Fri 10am, at St. Gerald’s Catholic Church, 96th & Q St., Ralston. VISITATION Thurs 5-8pm, with a WAKE SERVICE at 7pm, all at St. Gerald’s Church. Private Family Interment.
