HEFFRON, Dr. John Francis, M.D., Oct 8, 1925 Jul 5, 2010. Born in Lost Nation, Iowa. Preceded in death by parents, Frank and Mary Heffron; sisters: Marie (Paul) McClimon, Carmel (O.J.) Langenfeld and Patricia (Raymond) Powers. Survived by wife of 58 years, Patricia; sons: Dr. John J. Heffron of Omaha, Dr. Thomas (Jane) Heffron of Denver, Matthew (Suzanne) Heffron of Omaha; daughter Mary (Mark) Klein of Tampa, FL; 18 grandchildren; brother-in-law, James (Pamela) Walters of Atlanta, GA; sister-in-law, JoAnn Donegan of Omaha; many nieces and nephews. Dr. Heffron attended St. Ambrose College and Creighton University. He graduated from the Creighton School of Medicine in 1952. He did an internship at St. Joseph Hospital from 1952-1953, after which he practiced general medicine in Anamosa, Iowa, for one year before serving two years in the Air Force. After an OB-GYN residency, he was in practice of OB-GYN in Omaha for 34 years, and was a clinical professor of OB-GYN at Creighton University School of Medicine until his retirement in 1994. Memorials are suggested to Siena/Francis House, KVSS Spirit Catholic Radio, or Masses. VISITATION begins Thursday, 5pm, with WAKE SERVICE at 7pm at the West Center Chapel. VISITATION Friday, 9am, Christ the King Catholic Church followed by FUNERAL MASS at 10am. Interment, Calvary Cemetery.
