Dr. Wilfred R. Gartner, Jr.

Nov 4, 1945 – Apr 15, 2017

Born in Omaha, Bill Gartner attended Central High School and University of Nebraska, Lincoln.  He attended San Francisco School of Podiatry, following in his family’s footsteps—his grandfather was the first podiatrist in the state of Nebraska and his father and several uncles were also foot doctors.  After graduating, Bill practiced as a podiatrist in Omaha and also had offices in Kearney and Lincoln for many years.

Bill always had a passion for golf, downhill skiing, biking, and travel.  He was spontaneous in his activities and was a frequent visitor to Minnesota, where he spent time and holidays with his sister’s family.  He attended Dundee Presbyterian Church his entire life and was involved with the Mariners’ ministry for many years.

Interment at Wyuka Cemetery in Lincoln, NE on May 19th at 10:30 a.m. with reception following.  The MEMORIAL SERVICE celebrating his life will be on May 19th at 2:30 p.m. at Dundee Presbyterian Church, 5312 Underwood in Omaha.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Dundee Presbyterian Church or your favorite charity.

Bill was a very good doctor to my mother as well as a good family friend. Mom was also a patient of his father’s so we’ve known him for 30+ years. We always enjoyed Bill’s humor and sense of adventure. He will be greatly missed.
