MARKEY-Edith E., age 89, born 12/11/17 died 6/14/07. Edith, a graduate of North High School, was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence A. and Mary E. Castle; her loving husband, John J. “Jim”, Sr., who was employed at Wilson’s Certified Foods for 34 years. John and Edith were joined in marriage at St. Bernards Church on 11/22/38. They lived in the Benson community for nearly their entire married life until John’s death on 9/21/05. While providing a loving and caring home for her family, Edith touched many lives during her 89 year journey through a life filled with many activities, including bowling and golf leagues, sewing club, church group, neighborhood acquaintances, and the numerous and varied activities of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She especially enjoyed fishing trips with her husband. All who knew and loved her will miss her smile, optimism, humor and generous spirit. She is survived by her brother, Clarence “Henry” Castle, Omaha; sons and spouses, John “Jim” and Nancy, Villard, MN, William “Denny” and Karla, Loveland, CO; daughter and spouse, Barb and Pat Bostwick, Altoona, IA; 7 grandchildren, Mark, Jim and Bob Markey, Dianne Majerus, Steve and Stacey Bostwick, and Cindy Bidduth; 14 great grandchildren. Her loving grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Carol and Darrel Oliver, Joyce Trobough, Marilyn Simms, Dick and Judy Bowley. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Bernards Church Building Fund or Masses. VISITATION begins Tues., 3 PM with a Wake Service at 7 PM, West Center Chapel. Services Wed., 10 AM St. Bernard Catholic Church. Interment Calvary Cemetery.
