Preceded in death by parents, Carl and Alta Shupe; brothers: Hershel, Raymond, Howard, Edgar and Robert; sisters, Evone and Phyllis; great-granddaughter, Faith Youngblood. Survived by wife of 59 years, Leila Shupe; daughters: Kathryn Heppner (Paul) of Lilburn, GA, Maria Hewitt of Omaha; 6 grandchildren: Tera Bass, Leslie Bass, Chase Bass, Jaime Youngblood, Sara Forman (Scott) and Nicole Barry (Shawn); 10 great-grandchildren: Devin Bass, Antonio Poynter, Timothy Poynter, Lauren Johnson, Leila Bass, Leigh Forman, Ethan Forman, Paige Forman, Charlotte Barry and Samantha Barry; 4 brothers: Duane (Ima Jean), Donald (Lou), Gary and Rickie (Evelyn); 7 sisters: Ruby, Betty Jean, Mary Ruth (Mike), Vera Ann (Morey), Margaret (Denny), Nancy and Debbie (Ken); many nieces and nephews. MEMORIAL SERVICE Tuesday, Dec. 21, at 4pm at the West Center Chapel with military honors by Benson VFW Post 2503. Interment in Albaton, Iowa at a later date. The family will receive friends Monday, Dec 20, from 5pm-7pm at the West Center Chapel. Memorials are suggested to Odyssey Hospice.
