Survived by wife, Itha Hernandez DeSmith; daughters: Aura Whitney Jackson and husband Andrew Jackson of Omaha, Irma Gilbert and husband Ken Gilbert of Las Vegas, NV, Celia Dougherty and husband Frank Dougherty of Delaware; granddaughter, Karen Ryan and husband Daniel Ryan of Omaha; numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Daisy V. Jakuc and Amy Campbell of Omaha; numerous other relatives in Panama. Memorial Mass Tuesday, 2:00 p.m. at Mary Our Queen Catholic Church. Memorials may be directed to the family.
