Ethel V. Emswiler

Ethel Verona (Hillman) Emswiler, age 98, of Logan, Iowa passed away Friday, November 20, 2015 at the Westmont Care Center in Logan, Iowa. Ethel was born August 29, 1917 in Modale, Iowa to Jesse S. and Martha A. (Logan) Hillman. She was married to Charles W. Emswiler, May 22, 1935 in Carroll, Iowa. Ethel and Charles farmed in the Logan area for many years, they moved into Logan in 1983. Ethel was a member of the Logan Christian Church, she enjoyed quiliting, sewing, gardening, feeding and watching birds, flowers and cracking black walnuts. Charles passed away March 12, 1997. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, son Vincent, sisters, Opal, Vesta, twin sister Edith, Helen, brothers, Glenn and Beacher. Survivors include her daughters: Judith L. Harpster and husband Allen of Logan, Iowa; Nancy J. Mundt and husband Verdell of Council Bluffs, Iowa; son: Thomas R. Emswiler and wife Dona of Logan, Iowa; daughter-in-law: Sherry Emswiler of Council Bluffs, Iowa; twelve grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m.. until time of service at the Logan Christian Church. The family invites everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship at the church following the committal service.
