Frances Louise Weldon, age 81 of Mondamin, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Frances was born May 2, 1931 in Mondamin, Iowa to Otto and Alice (Hammer) Nelson. Frances grew up the Mondamin area. She married Fred Weldon, April 21, 1950 in Sioux City, Iowa, Fred passed away January 21, 2003. Frances enjoyed camping, playing cards, cooking and baking pies. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she loved her family and friends very much. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frederick, sister Helen Husz, brother Harold Nelson. Survivors include her son: Michael Weldon and wife Ann of Mondamin, Iowa; brother: Charles F. Nelson of Council Bluffs, Iowa; grandchildren: Nicole Pospisil and husband Josh of Mondamin, Iowa; Shayne Weldon and wife Tara of Mondamin, Iowa; Jessica Weldon of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; great-grandchildren: Kylee and Dalton Pospisil, Amber and Braedon Weldon. Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa. The family would like to invite everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship at the Mondamin Community Center in Mondamin, Iowa.
