Helen Ruth Lovell

Helen Ruth Lovell, age 92, of Logan, Iowa passed away Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Alegent Health Creighton Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Helen was born February 8, 1920, to Leonard and Gertrude Staley of Charter Oak, Iowa. Survivors include her sons: Rev. Mr. David Lovell and his wife Ellen of Sunrise Beach, Missouri; Rev. Mr. Dennis Lovell and his wife Kathy of Logan, Iowa; daughters: Loretta Rademacker and her husband Jeff of Lincoln, Nebraska; and Lorna Stallman of Des Moines, Iowa; fourteen grandchildren and twelve great- grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her husband Paul, parents, sisters Monica and Bette and her brother Jim. Helen and Paul, along with their family, spent over thirty-five summers vacationing at their cabin on Cass Lake, Minnesota. During winter months, Helen and Paul drove south to Mexico, Las Vegas and other warmer climates, camping along the way. Helen enjoyed fishing, cooking, crocheting, word puzzles and going to garage sales. She loved being visited by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Helen shared in Paul’s vision of a religious museum, and worked hard to help bring the Museum of Religious Arts to fruition. She was filled with pride and thanksgiving for the many people of the community who labored and sacrificed to make the museum a reality. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 18, starting at 5:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Logan Memorial Chapel, in Logan, Iowa. The family would like to invite everyone to the church for a time of lunch and fellowship after the committal service.
