Howard M. Johnson, Sr.

JOHNSON, Howard M., Sr. Apr 12, 1924 – Mar 20, 2013 A devoted husband and father, he played his part well. Our Lord called him home on the first day of Spring, 2013. Of Omaha. He was preceded in death by father and mother, Alvin E. Johnson (1946) and Nina Bergquist (1976); brother, Warren (1992); sister, Myrtle Louise Olauson (2010). He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lois Denton Johnson; 4 children: Howard Johnson, Jr. (Barbara), Debbie Wright (John), David Johnson (Ann), and Douglas Johnson (Debbie); 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Oliver and Katie Nesbitt, Wendell and Gloria Brooks, Barbara Denton and Betty Jo Johnson; numerous nieces and nephews. Howard served in the Pacific Theater during World War II and received the Purple Heart. A graduate of both the University of Omaha and Wisconsin School of Banking, Howard worked in the banking and insurance industries for over 60 years. MEMORIAL SERVICE Tuesday, March 26 at 11am at Dundee Presbyterian Church, 5312 Underwood Ave. Private Inurnment at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with military rites by Millard American Legion Post 374 and VFW Post 8334. Memorials are suggested to Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home (12505 S. 40 St., Bellevue 68123) in recognition of the remarkable care and love provided by its employees.
