LEVERING-James D., age 78, Bellevue, NE, Maj. USAF (ret.), died on Monday, August 4, 2008, at Bergan Mercy Medical Center with cherished friends at his side. Mr. Levering was born on Feb. 12, 1930, in Le Roy, KS. After retirement from the United States Air Force, he was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone. He lived in Bellevue for more than 40 years. His wife Maxine preceded him in death in May 2001. Mr. Levering is survived by his two children, daughter Michelle and her husband Charles Derr, of Topsham, ME; son Alan and his wife Margaret, of Rochester, MN; 3 grandchildren, Graham Jones of Fullerton, CA, and Samantha and Andrea Levering of Rochester, MN; two devoted friends, Jean Williams of Bellevue and Savannah Stanley of Omaha. A Service in Celebration of his life will be held Saturday, August 9 at 10am at Bellevue Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Chaplain Oledia Bell officiating. Visitation 1 hour prior to service.
