Born in Oakland, Nebraska on June 26, 1927; passed away in Plattsmouth, Nebraska on March 27, 2017. Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Janicek; parents, Gustav B. Johnson and Ida (Nelson) Johnson; brothers: Dennis, Virgil, Dwaine, and infant brother at birth; sisters, Margaret (Elmer) Swanson and Fern (LeRoy) Eastberg.  She is survived by her daughter, Carol Hurley of Bellevue; stepdaughter, Carol Janicek of Lincoln, Nebraska; brothers, Vernon of Fairbury, Nebraska and Donald of California; nephew, Mike Matejka of Omaha; nieces and nephews scattered across the country, and friends.

Jeanette grew up in a large family of eight children with two sisters and five brothers.  Jeanette was from the generation that knew tough times and the personal sacrifice of WWII.  She lost her first husband in the Korean War and her brothers all served in various branches of the service.

Jeanette was later married to the late Charles Janicek of Omaha with whom she had many happy years.  Gorat’s was her favorite place to eat with Charlie.  They shared the hobby of bowling and had many trophies to display.  In recent years, she loved playing bingo.

The family will receive friends Monday, April 3rd from 10am to 11am, with SERVICES at 11am at the Bel Air Chapel.  Interment, Bohemian Cemetery.
