Jennifer L. Kemler

KEMLER, Jennifer L. “Jennie,” Jun 7, 1955 – Nov 29, 2009. Jennifer was born in Leigh, NE, to her proud parents, Eugene and Janice Herink. Jennie was raised on a farm in Leigh along with her siblings: Rich, Russ, Julie and Jackie. Jennie graduated from Leigh High School and went on to college, earning her bachelor’s degree. She married John Kemler in 1985 and gave birth to two wonderful sons, Matt who is a sophomore at Dana College in Blair, NE, and Joey who is a junior at Ralston High School. Jennie was always of service in her work, whether as a Med Tech at Methodist Hospital, full-time wife and mother, school secretary at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Omaha and St. Mary Catholic Church in Bellevue, or most recently at Pope Paul VI Institute. Jennie was very competitive when it came to sports, and she attended more basketball, soccer and baseball games for Matt and Joey than anyone could begin to count. And let us not forget about her devotion to the Husker volleyball team! Jennie touched many lives during her short time; let us all continue to live our lives inspired by her courageous example. Jennie was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Herink. She is survived by her husband, John Kemler; sons, Matt and Joey, all of Omaha; mother, Janice Herink of Leigh, NE; brothers: Russ (Chris) Herink of Leigh, Rich (Lanelle) Herink of Lincoln, NE; sisters: Julie Herink of Omaha, Jackie Herink of Columbus, NE; brother-in-law, Rob Kemler (Kathy); sister-in-law, Patty Kemler (Rick Dusek), all of Omaha. Many, many years ago Jennie and I were good friends at the University of Nebraska. I am sad to learn of her death and wanted to send my condolences. Jennie was lively, funny, caring, generous, and more fun than any one.
