Jerry Leon Grubb

GRUBB-Jerry Leon, age 68, died peacefully with his family at his side on Sat. morning, 4/26/08. A wonderful, loving husband to his surviving wife of 40 years, Linda Goth Grubb; and a dedicated father to his three children, Curtis, Kevin and Kelly; he is also survived by his older brother, Gayle, of Newport Beach, CA. After 40 years with Morgan Stanley financial services, Jerry retired as senior vice president in 2002. Jerry was born on a small farm outside of Wayne, NE on 9/1/1939. His love for the land, nature and its wildlife stemmed from this rural upbringing and became the foundation for his life. As a friend of Bill W., Jerry brought renewal and happiness to many. A funny and generous man, his life centered around helping others through reaching out and speaking to those in need of a friend. He enjoyed carving wildfowl decoys, painting his special brand of abstract oils, fishing, cooking, gardening and simply sitting and enjoying the beauty of the day. A spiritual man, Jerry’s sanctuary was the natural world around him and his higher power was the gift of love which he has left to all who knew him, and which will remain his legacy forever. On behalf of his surviving family, we extend our deepest gratitude to all who have given their love and support in our time of need. Memorial Services will be held Wed., 4/30/08, at 2 PM, at Countryside Community Church, United Church of Christ, 8787 Pacific Street, Omaha. Memorials suggested to Siena/Francis House, 1702 Nicholas St., Omaha, 68102 and/or Nebraska Wildlife Federation, P.O. Box 81437, Lincoln, NE 68501.
