Kathy M. (Erks) Flock, age 50, of Missouri Valley, Iowa passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014. Kathy was born November 16, 1963 in Omaha, Nebraska to Verlyn and Betty (Bodnar) Erks. After high school Kathy attended Iowa-Western Community College and earned her associates degree in Early Childhood Development. She was employed at REM as a Home Health Aide. Kathy loved crafts, her miniature Dachshunds and most of all, her grandchildren. Kathy is preceded in death by her sister: Shirley Erks. Survivors include her parents: Verlyn and Betty Erks of Missouri Valley, Iowa; son: Joe Flock and wife Rachel of Utica, New York; daughters: Amber McCall and husband J. D. of Missouri Valley, Iowa; Samantha Jessen of Council Bluffs, Iowa; sisters: Vicki Foreman of Logan, Iowa; Lauri Newblom of Plano, Texas; Terri Martinez of Colorado Springs, Colorado; half-sister: Dee Schandelmier of Council Bluffs, Iowa; eight grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa.
