Lois Lucille (Brown) Hatterman was born July 25, 1919 to John L. and Abbie (Leonard) Brown at their home in Hardscratch, IA. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 2, 2014 in Logan, IA. Lois graduated from Logan High School in 1936. She taught in various country schools until she married Louie October 1, 1942. They farmed in Portsmouth, Iowa until Louies death in 1977. Lois moved to Logan, Iowa in 1978. After moving to Logan, she worked at the Harrison County Title and Guaranty for several years. Lois was a faithful member of the Logan United Methodist Church where she held many church positions. She had been an active member of many clubs– Library, Ringside Country Club, SOS, UMW. She was an active member of the Monday and Thursday Exercise group. Lois was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, Louie and brothers John, Raymond and Bob. Lois is survived by her daughter Kay Hatterman from Dallas, TX, sister Marjorie Sass from Mo Valley, IA and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Private family burial will be held. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Logan, Iowa with Pastor Patti Ford officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Logan Memorial Chapel in Logan, Iowa. In lieu of flowers family would like memorials to the Cancer Society or the United Methodist Church. Complete obit when approved by family.
