Lola Brindisi

Feb 26, 2017

Lola Brindisi (1929-2017) completed her wonderful life on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at the age of “almost 90,” as she would say. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Gerardo “Jerry” Brindisi.  She is survived by her four loving and “special” children: Anthony (Sondra DeFranks) Brindisi, Geralyn (Richard) Azizkhan, Angela (Richard) Jackson, and Gerardo V. (Susan) Brindisi.  She was also blessed to be Grandma to eleven grandchildren: Aaron Azizkhan, Richard Jackson, Tara (John) Alderman, Tia (Jon) Minton, Anthony (Vallena) Brindisi, Dana Brindisi, Lauren Brindisi, Benjamin DeFranks, Ava DeFranks, Luke Brindisi, and Gavin Brindisi; five great-grandchildren: Lucas, Kirk, Karson, Kira, and Addison; sisters-in-law, Connie (Nugent) Andreini and Marie (DeFazio) Andreini; several nieces and nephews: David Andreini, Russell Andreini, Lindsey (Paul) Wrobel, and Mathew Andreini, as well as her grandniece, Gia and grandnephew, Paulie.

Lola was born in Carbondale, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Armando Andreini and Angela Rock.  Lola was a hair dresser for many years and ran her own business.  She was active in St. John de La Salle Church and School when she lived in Niagara Falls.  She was a member of the Marthas at St. John’s Church.  She lived with her daughter Geralyn and her family in Cincinnati, Ohio since 2004 and most recently in Omaha, Nebraska.

She touched everyone she met with her sweet, loving, caring spirit.  She was known as “sweet Lola” by many people who knew her well.  Everyone was “special” to her, especially her family.  She would love visits and phone calls from her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed playing cards (Rummy and Kings in the Corner), Bingo, watching game shows, music and going to Mass at Brookestone Village in Omaha, Nebraska.

The family wishes to thank the “special” friends and caregivers at Brookestone Village who loved and supported Lola in so many ways.  You kept her busy and made her happy.

A FUNERAL MASS will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 12:00pm at St. John de LaSalle Church, 8477 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14304, followed by burial service at St. Joseph Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorials to the Children’s Hospital Foundation at Children’s Hospital & Medical Center, 8200 Dodge Street, Omaha, NE 68114  (www.childrensomaha.org).
