Lucille Ardis Sorenson Crossan

CROSSAN, Lucille Ardis Sorenson Dec 17, 1922 – Feb 4, 2014 Age 91; passed away on Feb 4, 2014. Born in Langford, South Dakota, on December 17, 1922 to Albert Christ Sorenson and Mildred Grace Stewart Sorenson. She met David Peter Crossan at her sister’s and his brother’s wedding in the spring, and they were married at First Presbyterian Church in Omaha on Sept. 23, 1950. David passed away on August 10, 2013 after a long illness, just before they would have celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. Lucille had an in-home business, Lou’s Dolls, as well as being very involved with the Christian Education Department and many other positions in the church. She was also very involved in PTA for all her children, from Elementary through High School. Lucille became very interested in button collecting after all her children were on their own. She was instrumental in creating the Omaha Button Club, of which she was president for many years. She entertained many groups with her talks on the history of buttons. Lucille was an inspiration to all who knew her, and she will be greatly missed. Survived by children: Pamela R. Seaton (Richard) of Boulder City, Nevada, Vicki L. Smith (Tad), Cynthia A. Parks (George), Anita L. Crossan, and Brian D. Crossan (Colleen Clark), all of Omaha; grandchildren: Andrea Seaton, Jill Ford (Gabe), Matthew Parks (Kerri Robinson), Leah Parks, Erica Smith, Stephanie Gade (Chris), Corey, Nicholas and Lukas Vanderheiden; great-grandchildren: Daria Seaton, Makenzie Ford and Ethan Ford; sisters, Shirley Moore (Edgar) of Downey, California, and Dorothy Crossan of Columbia, South Dakota. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 6th from 6pm to 8pm at the West Center Chapel. Graveside Service and Interment Friday, February 7th at 1pm at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 5701 Center. Memorials are suggested to Josie Harper Hospice House or to a charity of your choice.
