Brenda, I am sincerely so sorry to hear of your loss! I also truly regret not keeping in closer contact with Marty when he left North Bend. I last spoke with him (via email), about a year ago or so about the 432 HZ vs 440 HZ music conspiracy theory!!! (Of all things, imagine that!!!) I’m just at a loss for words…. I just can’t believe this! God bless you and Delaine and Colin in this difficult time… know in your heart that Marty truly was one of the good guys!!!!! Byron

    Dear Brenda, Delanie & Colin,
Please accept my deepest sympathy and prayers for you at this time. Marty was a dear friend and great source of encouragement to me when I began teaching at Midland in 2004. I know he blessed so many colleagues and students in this way with his musicianship, friendship, and great sense of humour. Marty continued his busy band schedule when he graduated. We remember the many hours he could be found in the band room. And what a talented young man. His smile was contagious and he always had a funny remark to keep everyone entertained. He will certainly be missed by all the people whose lives he has touched. and all the young people who were fortunate to have been taught by him or to whom he was a mentor. Our prayers are with the family, and special thoughts go to Lee, who we were fortunate to have taught, also. The angels will be playing “76 Trombones” as he enters heaven. Blessings!

Our heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the family of Marty (Mr Frye). We were saddened to learn of Marty’s passing. His appreciation for music of all types was something that he passed on to not only his students, but to others as well. His support for live and local music in the area were second to none. That is a strong, positive legacy to leave behind. RIP Marty (Mr Frye)

We knew the Frye family when we lived in Arlington. Our Son, Dean was a year behind Marty, but they were in School plays and Band all through school. Marty only lived a couple of blocks away from us so there were always kids getting together playing football, or something in someones yard or in the park by the pool. Dean lives in San Diego & this hit him very hard as it has everyone. We’re so very sorry for your loss. It sounds he is loved by a lot of people. Such a loss.

I met Marty through a friend. Marty and I hit it off , he being a well spoken, reserved man, and I the complete opposite. As I think of Marty and our relationship and look at the numerous musical tutorials he gave me., those aren’t the lesson me that stick with me the most. What sticks is the lessons in being a loyal, loving husband and father. I thank you for everything and goods speed Maestro !
