Mildred M. Cikota

CIKOTA-Mildred M., prominent South Omaha business woman who owned and operated Yechout Paint and Wallpaper Company in South Omaha for over 40 years, died Tuesday, 7/17/07 of ovarian cancer. In work, she delighted in creative home decorating and was a featured home decorating and problem solving columnist in the South Omaha Sun newspaper. At home she lovingly explored traditional culinary delectables, traveling with family, and always made sure colorful flowers were close by. Her family devotion, community commitment and passion for people and life rewarded everyone in her presence an enthusiastic smile. Her husband, John Cikota, passed in 1998 and her life’s celebration lasted 87 years. She is survived by her children: John, Jr., La Rain, and Leon; her grandchildren, Gabriela and Madelyn; her sister, Mary Jane CreMeens of Omaha; several nieces and nephews. We shall all miss her energetic, fun-loving and spirited nature. Vigil Service Thursday, 7:00 p.m., West Center Chapel.
