NIELAND, Timothy J.

Timothy J. Nieland Sep 10, 1959 – Nov 14, 2016 Timothy Joseph Nieland was born on September 10, 1959, in Carroll, Iowa. He attended twelve years of schooling at St. Bernard’s in Breda, Iowa. After high school he went to Boone Junior College and Briar Cliff University, where he played baseball. Tim then moved to Arizona to complete an internship for horticulture. After a few years, he moved back to Breda and farmed with his father. He then moved to Omaha and began work for Mr. Turf, a lawn service of which he eventually became part owner. He later branched off and started his own service, Nieland Lawn and Landscaping. Aside from his love of sports and family, few people knew Tim had a passion for writing poetry. It also became known that he had written several songs that were published. Tim had two daughters, Kaitlyn Wacker and Reid Rauterkaus. He also had two granddaughters, Charlotte and Ava Wacker, all of whom he was so proud. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Nieland. He is survived by his mother, Donita Nieland; daughters, Kaitlyn Wacker and Reid Rauterkaus; granddaughters, Charlotte and Ava Wacker; sisters: Deb Simons (Bob), Rhonda Borer (Sam), Jodi Brincks (Rick); brother, Russell Nieland (Marsha); many nieces and nephews. CELEBRATION OF LIFE Saturday, Nov. 19th at 3pm at the Bel Air Chapel, followed by VISITATION and fellowship at the funeral home. Interment in Carroll, Iowa at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Tim’s granddaughters’ education fund.
