Rachel F. Stiefvater

Stiefvater, Rachel F. Jan 14, 1927 – Feb 15, 2009 Survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Arlen Stiefvater; daughter, Arlis Perry and husband Monty; brother Alan Stembridge and wife Bettye; grandchildren, Douglas and Allison Perry; many neices; nephews; host of other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Hazel (Hassell) Stembridge; son, Charles Arlen Stiefvater; brother, Charles Stembridge; and sister, Louise Cherry. Rachel grew up in El Paso, TX, and resided there until she was married on July 14, 1956. As an Air Force wife, Arlen and Rachel lived all over the country, including four years in Europe before settling down in Bellevue for 32 years. In 2004 they moved to Pearland, TX. Throughout the years Arlen and Rachel loved to travel. They enjoyed spending time with family. Her grandchildren were the highlights of her life. They affectionately referred to her as “Grandma”. Rachel was a past Matron of the Eastern Star and Grand Representative to Maryland O.E.S. An Eastern Star Memorial service will be held at 11am on Wednesday April 8th, Bellevue Memorial Funeral Chapel. A luncheon will follow at the Bellevue Masonic Lodge dining room.
