Raymond Parsons age 81, of Persia, Iowa, passed away at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa on August 19, 2014. Raymond graduated from Jamestown High School in Jamestown, Kansas in 1951. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1952, serving until 1956. Ray was employed with American Airlines for 35 years, retiring in 1995. Ray became a member of the Community of Christ Church on July 22, 1994. Raymond is preceded in death by parents Earl and Kathryn (Morgan) Parsons, siblings; Ruby (Parsons) Conn and husband Clair, Evelyn (Parsons) Tholstrup and husband Dale, Donald, Gary, Clara (Parsons) Stegmaier, and Irene Parsons, brother-in-law Rex Newton, mother-in-law Zelma (Cross) Jarvis, father-in-law Donald Jarvis, brother-in-law Arvon Jarvis, and infant great grandson Luke Raymond Hoss. Raymond is survived by his wife of 54 years Arlee Mae (Jarvis) Parsons, son Kirk Parsons and wife Pam, daughter Sheila and husband Matt Powell, grandchildren; Seth, Colin, Derek, and Aaron Parsons, Chad Powell, Chelsea Powell, Carlee (Powell) Hoss and husband Bill, great grandsons; Liam and Levi Hoss, and Grayson Powell; sisters; Donna LeFort, Sandra Pae and husband Fred, Mary Newton; brother; Delbert Parsons and wife Sandy, brother-in-law Fred Stegmaeir, sister-in-law Jackie Parsons, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be held Friday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 at the Logan Memorial Chapel in Logan, Iowa.
