HIGHLAND-Raymond Glen “Pete,” age 70, Omaha. Born 09/05/1937 in Cambridge, NE to Glenn and Vera (Campbell) Highland. Pete passed away on 08/09/08 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He loved to fish and was always game for a fishing trip. He was a compassionate man with a big heart. He loved his family above all else and they will miss him and his crazy sense of humor. He was preceded in death by both parents and infant brother, Jimmy. He is survived by his loving wife, Karen; daughter, Dianna of Omaha; 3 sons: Charles of Johnson Lake, NE, Douglas (Lina) of Hershey, NE, and Steve (Michelle) of Blair, NE; two sisters, Barbara Woods (Lon) of Pittsburg, KS, Amy Johnson of Scottsbluff, NE; 6 grandchildren: Nickolus (Carmen) of Bethany, OK, Linlie of North Platte, NE, Katelin of North Platte, Crystal of Denver, CO, Jennifer of Blair, NE, and Meagan Highland of Elwood, NE; aunt, Letha Harned of Brookings, OR; brother-in-law, Royal Miller (Kae) of Hastings, NE; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Graveside Service and Interment Wednesday, 2 p.m., Arapahoe Cemetery in Arapahoe, NE. Memorials to Hospice House.
