BIRD, Rhonda R. Mar 18, 1968 Apr 28, 2014 Rhonda Renee Bird was born in Omaha, Nebraska to Riley John and Sandy Helms. She grew up in South Omaha where she attended Indian Hills Elementary, and graduated from Omaha South High School in 1986. She married Matthew Bird in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 17, 1996. Rhonda worked as a caregiver at ENCOR and Mosaic before becoming a full time mother in 2011. Rhonda, her husband, and their two children lived in west Omaha. She was a loving mother, wife, daughter, and sister. She died at home April 28, 2014 after a courageous struggle with breast cancer. Rhonda was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mildred and Stanley Novak, Gloria Nohava, and Riley Helms. She is survived by her husband, Matthew M. Bird; daughters, Morgan and Sydney; parents, Sandra Helms and Riley John Helms; siblings, Tammy Corcoran (Dan) and Scott Helms; other relative and many friends. MEMORIAL SERVICE Thursday, May 1st at 10:30am at Lutheran Church of the Master, 2617 S 114 St. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Bird Childrens Education Fund in care of the West Center Chapel.
