Robert B. Kudlacek

Feb 10, 1921 – Apr 23, 2017

Robert B. Kudlacek, age 96, from Papillion via Lincoln and Wilber, was born in Swanton, Nebraska.  For 67 years, he was married to the love of his life, Leeana Rezny.  At 19 he left home to serve the Navy during WWII.  After being discharged, he spent 40 years in the Naval Reserve, retiring as a Captain.

He attended the University of Nebraska, graduating with a degree in business, and spent his career with the Soil Conservation Service.  His work led him to assignments, with USAID, in Lashkar Gah and Kabul, Afghanistan, and Kathmandu, Nepal.  He and Leeana traveled the world and he meant the world to his children.

Anyone who knew Robert knows they’ve lost a special friend.  He was kind to all and willing to help anyone.  He could build, fix and repair anything.

He joins his parents, Frank and Lillian (Sindelar) Kudlacek; sisters, Harriet and Dorothy; and brother, Franklin “Babe.”  Survivors include his daughter, Mary de Souza (Euclid), and son, John; grandchildren: Stephanie Poots (Justin), Patrick, Courtney and Meredith de Souza; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Carter Poots; brother, John; granddogs, Riley and Lucy.

On Saturday, June 10th, please join Robert’s family at the Country Club of Lincoln, 3200 So. 24th St., from 1pm to 4pm to celebrate his life and offer a toast with a martini or red beer to honor him.  Memorials are suggested to the Wilber Volunteer Fire and Rescue or the American Legion Post 101, Wilber, NE.
