RUSTAN-Roger L., age 73, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2009 at Midlands Hospital Papillion, Nebraska. Roger Rustan was born August 22, 1935 in Edinburg, North Dakota, the son of Oscar and Sally (Sonderson) Rustan. He graduated from Edinburg High School in 1953, and the University of North Dakota with a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 1958. He also took management classes in California at UCLA. He married Barbara Christenson in Edinburg, ND, July 14, 1957. After graduation from UND, the couple moved to Los Angeles where he went to work for North American Aviation. In 1963, he went to work for TRW as a thermodynamics engineer. In 1971, the family moved to Omaha, Nebraska where he worked for Malnove Inc. He went to work as an engineering consultant for Machine Builders and Design of Shelby, NC in 1994. He then retired from engineering and went into real estate with Century 21. His community involvements included Immanuel Lutheran Church Council, when he served as church council president for 9 years, and the Bellevue Kiwanis Club, where he also served as president. He focused on work with the Stevens Center and Special Olympics. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, daughter Wendy Caslavka (Fred), Maple Plain, MN. Son Brad (Amy), Evans GA. Four grandchildren, Shane and Brynn Caslavka, and Kallyn and Braeden Rustan. Brother, Jack Rustan, Dickinson, ND. He is preceded in death by his parents. SERVICE will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bellevue, Nebraska at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 28.
