Sharon J. Anderson

ANDERSON-Sharon J., 64 years, of Omaha. Miss Sharon of “Romper Room”, lost her battle with cancer on December 31st, 2007. Her teaching career extended beyond the living rooms of Omaha and into the classrooms of both Omaha and Lincoln for many years as well. In addition to ‘Romper Room”, she also worked as a reporter, weather announcer, and consumer advocate for WOWT. After leaving WOWT and up to the time of her death, she successfully owned and operated Sharon’s Blinds. An avid golfer, she became a cherished member and friend of Oak Hills Country Club. She also found great joy in monthly bridge games with friends. Her greatest passion in life was spending time with family, especially her beloved grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Howard “Howie” Anderson, Omaha, NE; daughters and son-in-law: Kitrina Anderson, Columbia, SC, Jennifer and Gregg Young; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Cortney Anderson all of Omaha; grandchildren: Alex Young and Brittany Young of Omaha, Jonathan Klett, Katie Klett and Jenny Klett of Columbia, SC, Chase Anderson and Cooper Anderson of Omaha; brother and sister-in-law, Jeffrey and Barbara Church, South Padre Island, TX. VISITATION with the family will be Thursday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the West Center Chapel. A Memorial Service will be Friday, 2:00 p.m. at Presbyterian Church of the Cross, 1517 South 114th Street. A private family inurnment will be held at Westlawn / Hillcrest Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Juvenile Diabetes Association, Presbyterian Church of the Cross Building Fund, or American Cancer Society.
