Steven Alan “Doc” Johnson

STEVEN ALAN “DOC” JOHNSON, age 59, of Logan, Iowa passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012 at his home in Logan, Iowa. Steven was born October 11, 1952 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Dwain and Lorna (Koenig) Johnson. He attended school in Council Bluffs and graduated in 1971 from Abraham Lincoln High School where he was very active in sports, especially basketball. Steven served as Senior Prom King and Homecoming King. Steven worked as a car salesman for Roden and Tim O’Neill Chevrolet. He became a business owner/bar owner for thirty years. He currently owned Doc’s Roadhouse in Logan, Iowa. He was very proud of his community and helped sponsor Men’s baseball team. He was the main sponsor for the Special Olympics for West Harrison for many years, he loved the kids. He sponsored many community events and benefits to help others. Steven was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents John and Juanita Koenig from Missouri Valley, Elmer and Gladys Johnson from Omaha, Nebraska. Steven is survived by his wife: Elaine of Logan, Iowa; sister: Connie Pires and husband Manuel of Modesto, California; brother: Jim Johnson and wife Laurie of Omaha, Nebraska; step-daughters: Jennifer Gilgen of Mondamin; Heather Arrick and husband Doug of Minden, Iowa; son-in-law: Jon Gilgen of Modale, Iowa; grandchildren: Lydia, Grant, Gabriel Gilgen, Natalie and Eva Arrick; several nieces, nephew, great-nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at the Logan Memorial Chapel in Logan, Iowa.
