Holt, Thomas G. CMSgt USAF (Ret) Jul 3, 1934 – Jan 24, 2014 Thomas Grier Holt “Tom”, 79, of Bellevue, NE, died Friday, January 24, 2014 in Bellevue from a recent illness. Born on July 3, 1934 to James R. Holt and Eunice (Parnell) Holt in Spartanburg, SC. Married to Shirley Prudhomme Holt, New Orleans, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sisters, Marion White, Jane Carnes, Abbey Beach, Esther Mims, SC; and 1 grandchild, Samuel Holt. He graduated from Lancaster High School in 1953, attended Art School, then joined the US Air Force where he was a graphic artist. He was an extremely talented portrait artist his whole life; painting professionally at Keesler AFB and in Biloxi, MS, as well as portraits for his family. He was also a very talented pianist and organist who could play just about anything he heard. Many gatherings found him “tinkling the ivories” and playing requests. He retired from the USAF as a CMSgt at Offutt AFB after 27 years with numerous awards and accolades. He started a new career as a Realtor in Bellevue, NE. He was very successful and enjoyed matching buyers with sellers in the greater Omaha metropolitan area for almost 25 years. He and his wife “retired” again to Rincon, GA to be closer to his family, but quickly found his “retirement” real estate career moving right back to full-time. He and his wife loved the community and warmth of the greater Savannah area, and missed it and their many friends very much when they relocated to Maryland. He and his wife with their eldest daughter, Nancy, lived close to their daughter, Lea Ann and her family until his wife passed from illness and Nancy was accepted as a resident of Star Community. He moved back to Bellevue where he was close to his son, Stephen and daughter, Catherine and her family, and all of his many long-time friends. He could talk to anyone and never met a stranger; they were always friends. He had many life-long good friends all over the country. He will be greatly missed. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by children, Nancy Holt, Lea Ann Dye (Rick), David Holt (Patsy), Stephen Holt, and Catherine Smith (Dennis); 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and many loving friends and relatives. FAMILY VISITATION will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at 1pm, with FUNERAL following at 2pm, all at Bellevue Memorial Chapel, Bellevue, NE. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery, Frederick, MD at a later date. Memorials may be made to: Star Community, Inc., 13759 Broadfording Church Road, Hagerstown, MD 21740 www.starcommunityinc.org
