Wayne Gerald Victor

Wayne Gerald Victor

March 27, 1942 – June 23, 2017

Wayne was born to LeRoy William and Florence Frances Victor in St. Cloud, Minnesota.  He graduated from St. Cloud Cathedral HS and joined the Navy, where he was an Electronics Technician Chief.  He married Martha “Marty” Jean Alongi, who was also in the Navy, in 1963.   He left active duty in 1968 (but remained in the Navy reserve for another 12 years) and worked for the US Border Patrol in Grand Fords, ND as an electronics specialist.  In 1981 he moved back to Central Minnesota with Marty and their four children to join his brother’s computer business, ABS Data Systems. After working for a few years at ABS, and then running his own computer services company, Longview, he moved a final time to Omaha, NE in 1986 to take a position as IT Manager with Bethphage Mission (now Mosaic), where he would work until his retirement in 2007. Wayne spent his final decade looking after and enjoying his many grandchildren, regularly participating in the Catholic sacraments and Adoration, and rooting on his beloved Minnesota Vikings and Nebraska Cornhuskers. Wayne was a voracious reader and autodidact – he could carry on a conversation about any topic one might think to broach. He was unfailingly helpful and supportive of his family and will be sorely missed. Wayne is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marty, and four children; Stacey Kramer (fiancé, Dave Hempel) of Papillion, Lee Victor II of Omaha, Eric Victor (Deanna) of Linn Valley, KS and Bethanie Rames (Kurt) of Omaha; eleven grandchildren; sister, Glenda Burrows.

The family will receive friends Tuesday June 27th from 6pm to 6:30pm, with VIGIL SERVICE at 6:30pm at the Bel Air Chapel, 12100 W. Center Rd.  MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL Wednesday, June 28th at 10am at Mary Our Queen Catholic Church, 3405 S. 118th St.  Interment, Resurrection Cemetery with military honors by Benson VFW Post 2503.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Mosaic of Omaha.

We are so sorry, Wayne was a GREAT guy. I always enjoyed time with him, he was very patient and extremely smart when it came to the high tech things we dealt with! My favorite saying of his was “that’s all you need son” when we were having ‘software tool’ issues with DOS/Windows back in the day…
