Wendley “Benny” Charbonneau

WENDLEY B. “BENNY” CHARBONNEAU, age 79, of Logan, Iowa passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at the Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Benny was born January 7, 1930 in LaSalle, Illinois to Ralph and Mildred (McElwee) Charbonneau. He was married to Kathleen L. Roberts, January 3, 1952 in Milton, Iowa. Benny farmed, owned and operated his own semi hauling rock for many years, and worked construction for Western Engineering. He loved his family, camping, fishing and farming. Survivors include his wife: Kathleen L. Charbonneau of Logan, Iowa; daughters: Debbie Straight and husband John of Logan, Iowa; Carol Fuhrman and husband Rich of Ft. Calhoun, Nebraska; Cheryl Michael and husband Ted of Magnolia, Iowa; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sister: Linda Meiners of Ft. Calhoun, Nebraska; step-children: Marlene Hougland and husband David of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Donnie Martin and wife Pam of Bloomfield, Iowa; seven step-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren. Benny was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and six brothers. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Logan Memorial Chapel in Logan, Iowa. The family would like to invite everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship at the Logan Community Center following the committal service at the cemetery.
