Fielding William “Bill” Beeler

Fielding William “Bill” Beeler

January 20, 1934 – December 23, 2024

Fielding William (Bill) Beeler, 90, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on December 23, 2024. Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ardie Beeler, his soulmate of 65 years.

Born in Omaha, Nebraska, Bill was the son of Beryl and Cecilia Beeler. He grew up in Rogers Park, Illinois, and attended Culver Military Academy for 3 years. After Culver, he returned to Omaha where he proudly became a 1951 graduate of Creighton Prep High School. Bill met Ardie during their freshman year at Iowa State University, where he earned a degree in Industrial Economics. Bill was also a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity in which he was the president of his class.

Returning to Omaha after college, Bill became president of Royal Dairy while pursuing his law degree at Creighton University. In 1966, he sold Royal to Robert’s Dairy. Bill’s career evolved into land development and commercial real estate. He was a partner in the development of numerous Omaha area projects including Park Place, Boardwalk, and Candlewood.

In 1971, Bill and Roger Kupka co-founded Bartlett Hills Association (The Property) near Glenwood, Iowa—a wilderness retreat that continues to bring joy to many. Bill was a lifelong learner, with a natural drive to expand his knowledge in all subjects, especially history and science.

In 1982, Bill and Ardie moved to Las Vegas and embarked on a successful career in commercial roofing as a manufacturer’s representative with Carlisle, working in Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Long Beach. Bill and Ardie cherished their time in Las Vegas, splitting time between their home in the city and their cabin in Mt. Charleston, a serene mountain community outside of Las Vegas. During the workweek, they lived in Phoenix.

In retirement, Bill found joy in golfing, hunting, reading, and traveling. In 2018, the couple moved to the Terraces, a retirement community in Phoenix, where Bill thrived among friends, enjoying daily breakfasts with the Men’s Club. He also relished playing golf with his younger golfing buddies, whom he greatly admired.  Bill’s integrity, kindness, warmth and humor to all who knew him will be deeply missed.

Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ardie. He is lovingly remembered by his children: Bill Beeler (Jackie) of Redlands, CA; Cindy Huerter (Chris) of Omaha, NE; and Lisa Minker (Alan) of Phoenix, AZ. He leaves behind a legacy of love in his nine grandchildren: Kim (Alex) Mueller, Jack (Claire) Huerter, Beth (Kevin) Lantry, Maddie Huerter, Brooke Huerter, Gabby (Roy) McCoy, Jack Beeler, Katie (Jake) Huey, and Nick Minker; as well as his eight great-grandchildren: Reese, Ava, Nolan, and Luke Mueller; Lucy, Cal, and Alice Huerter; and Owen Lantry; sisters, Cecilia Crawford and Loralyn Kokes.

Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, February 22 at 10:00AM at Christ the King Catholic Church, 654 So 86th St., with Visitation beginning at 9:00AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Creighton Preparatory High School or to the Poor Clare Nuns of Omaha.

My deepest condolences. I only got to know Bill in the last few years, but I’m so glad I did. We got to party together at Gabby and Roy’s wedding in Guatemala. He was a truly remarkable person and the reason I met my husband Matt. He offered Matt a job in 1980’s in California and we that’s how are paths crossed. ❤️
