Bernice (Dohrmann) Stave

It has pleased Almighty God to receive the soul of Bernice Margaret Catherine Dohrmann Stave. She passed away on August 26, 2017 at Dougherty House Hospice in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, at the age of 100 years. Bernice was born July 14, 1917, to August and Johanna Dorhmann at Portsmouth, Iowa. She married Hubert Stave on February 28, 1939. Together they had two children – Linda and Ronald. Hubert passed away in 2005 and Ronald passed away in 2013.
Bernice is survived by her daughter, Linda Hanson of Sioux Falls, SD; daughter-in-law, Kristy Stave of Omaha; grandchildren: Brad Hanson (Jackie) and their son Sam, David Hanson (Joan) and their children, Caitlin Stratton (Dan) and Aaron, Lora Salem and her children, Zachary, Joey and Joshua, Kirsten Baloun (Aric) and their daughter, Aidyn, Doug Stave (Angie) and their children, Jake, Lauren and Justin, Shawn Bonge (Rick) and their children, Haley, Rachel and Jennifer, Matt Wolff (Ann) and their children, Abigail and Elizabeth; brother, Glenn Dohrmann (Betty); and sister, Darlene Kern.
Her family will greatly miss her laughter and gentle humor, her sympathetic ear, and her wise counsel. We will cherish memories of her kind and generous nature, her strength in adversity, and her interest in and love of family and friends. She welcomed people into her home and into her life and willingly gave of herself to serve the Lord God Almighty in whom she trusted.
