Nicholas Lee “Nick” Harvill

Nicholas Lee “Nick” Harvill
September 15, 1996  – June 25, 2021

Preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Mary Hurt; paternal grandparents; Tony and Mary Gomez. Survived by parents, Brian Gomez and Sherry Harvill; maternal grandfather, Gary Harvill; sisters, Breanna and Taya Harvill; uncles and aunts; Terry Gomez, Danny Harvill, Starlet Zaragoza (Max), Anita Olson (John), Gayle Swanson (Dave), Melanie Moreno (Randy), Tony Gomez (Jae), Yvette Berton (Zack) and over 100 cousins.

Nicholas graduated from Westside High School in 2014. He had a passion to cook and one day wanted to own his own restaurant.  Nick worked at the Grey Plume and was eventually promoted to Jr. Sous Chef.  He moved to Charleston, South Carolina eleven months ago to pursue his love for cooking.

Nicholas loved to take long walks, ride his skateboard, experience new foods, get lost on trails in Yellowstone and Colorado, and spend the day at the ocean.  Nicholas was a free spirit, adventurous, daring, and very outgoing.  His happiest times were spent with friends and family.  Nick was a shoulder to lean on, the first to give a huge hug, and a smile and eyes that lit up the room.

Words can’t express the immense pain this tragedy has caused.  All the love and support is truly a testament of our son’s character.  Nicholas is now peacefully resting until we meet again.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 6th from 5pm to 7pm at the West Center Chapel.
FUNERAL SERVICES: Wednesday, July 7th at 10:30am at the West Center Chapel.
Interment: Evergreen Cemetery.

There are no words to express my sadness during this tragic time. Sherry, Breanna and Taya, my heart breaks for the loss of Nick. He was truly one of a kind. I have known him since he was a little guy. He was always so kind and sweet. Whenever I saw him I got a big hug, and a huge smile. He was so genuine.
We will not know why Nicholas was taken from us at such a young age, until we meet up with him again.
    I love you Sherry💔

I don’t have words to express how heavy my heart feels. May God be with you and give you strength throughout this time. Nick and I didn’t work together too long but he was the first buddy I made in the kitchen at the Post house and we were friends immediately. He made me belly laugh and always brightened my day. Please let me know if you need anything at all. Love you all, Joy

Brian,Sherry, Breanna and Taya, we are so sorry for such a great lose! My heart hurts just knowing the pain you feel. Nick was such a handsome young man and we know how much he loved his family. We hope you can all find some comfort in knowing how many friends and family care for you all, and the hope we all have of seeing those we have lost in death again. Hang on to your memories. Lots of prayers.

I’m sorry brother. You left a lot of people who loved you too soon. And that’s alright because God must have needed you up there more than we do down here. Thank you for letting me sleep on your couch when times were tough and always bringing a smile to my face no matter how you were feeling. Truly an amazing man. Until I see you again 🙏🏼

Nick was my first roommate in college. The year I spent living with him I often think of as one of the most fun years of my life, and in no small part because of him. I gave him rides to work regularly, with the caveat that if we got stuck in the snow he had to push me out; this was the case more than once. We basically stayed up until 4/5 in the morning that entire Christmas break hanging out together. As crazy as he drove me sometimes I have a huge part of my heart that will always be reserved for him. Thank you, Nick.
