Carolyn Sue Myers
October 15, 1942 – February 28, 2023
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother and friend Carolyn Sue Myers. Sue passed away on February 28, 2023 after a courageous fight against a sudden illness, with her loving family by her side.
Carolyn Sue Myers was born on October 15, 1942, to the late Laurance H. Myers and Virginia Lee Myers (Mills) of Omaha. Sue was the owner and proprietor of Rockbrook Shopping Center, started by her parents, along with her four sons, who will continue to operate the family business.
Sue lived a full life filled with love and joy. Sue’s carefree, zest for life came second only to her beloved family. She was an outstanding mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, friend, and business owner. Her love was felt by all who knew her. Her kind heart and generous soul touched the lives of many. She had a kind word, or a small gift, or a helping hand for anyone who crossed her path.
Sue had an endless eye for all things fashion and a passion for art. She was a founding member of the Wearable Arts Shows. She, herself, was an artist and a fashion & jewelry designer. She enjoyed knitting, valued all religions, welcomed people from all walks of life, and loved animals and being in nature. Sue also enjoyed the frequent shopping excursion and a late afternoon lunch. Sue especially loved and cherished time spent with her family and dearest friends.
Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Laurance H. Myers and Virginia L. Myers (Mills); brother Larry W. Myers; sister Virginia Lee Myers; cousin Bob Mills; and our much beloved Johanna Johnson.
Sue is survived by her four sons and their beautiful wives; William ‘Biz’ (Kristina) Jordan, David C. (Lisa) Jordan, Matthew L.(Patty) Jordan and Zachary M. (Lisa) Daub; twelve grandchildren; and one soon-to-be-born great-grandson.
The family will be welcoming friends & special guests from 5:00 to 7:00pm on Friday March 3rd, 2023 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 654 South 86th Street Omaha, NE 68114. Following the Visitation, there will be a brief public memorial service at 7:00pm.
(Private family funeral and burial services are pending).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests, with gratitude, that memorial contributions be directed to:
- Nebraska Wildlife Rehab – 9777 M St, Omaha, NE 68127
- Two Rivers State Park – 27702 F St, Waterloo, NE 68069

She was a special person that I called my friend! I always looked forward to having lunch and sharing great conversations when I came to Omaha! I could never replace her in my life!!
My heart absolutely breaks that I didn’t hear about Suzy’s passing. I was out of the country and upon return I was told the news. Russ and Suzy were held Verydear in my heart. She was a special lady. One I shared birthdays with and one that had such an impact on my life. Praying for Russ and the boys. Love you all.
What a beautiful person inside and out. Such a contagious smile she gifted to us all. We got to know her thru our Art Shows at Countryside Village and Rock brook over the years. Thank you Sue for sharing your path in the walk of life. It seems short but the walk was truly magnificent. Love from us.
