Ralph G. “Jerry” Latimer

May 17 1942 – June 6, 2023

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Esther Latimer; in-laws, Elmer and Vivian Muth; sisters: Audrey Altic, Beverly Cochran, Marlene Majeski; brother, Lyle Latimer; brother and sister in-law, Larry and Cindy Cote. He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Latimer, and by his children: Tami Giitter (Michael), Tina Anderson (John DeMaria), and Jerry Latimer (Erika); grandchildren: Christopher Giitter, Zachary Anderson, Austin Giitter, Ryan Latimer, Spencer Latimer, and Jack Giitter; brothers, Robert Latimer, Terry Latimer (Helen), sister-in-law, Helen Latimer, brothers-in-law, Robert Majeski and Keith Muth (Lori); many nephews and nieces.

Jerry was born in Omaha, Nebraska, to Ralph and Esther Latimer. He was the second youngest in a family of 8 children. As a teenager he participated and exceled in the Golden Gloves. He later met the love of his life, Sharon Scantlin. They married and had 3 children and 6 grandchildren. He talked often about his pride of all their accomplishments. He started his company, Latimer Drywall, and began a successful career until he developed Rheumatoid Arthritis. He was a natural salesman and began his next career in selling cars. He loved golfing, Nebraska football, and Creighton basketball. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him.

VISITATION: Monday, June 12, 2023, 5:00 – 7:00PM, followed by PRAYER SERVICE: 7:00PM, all at West Center Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Nebraska Humane Society or Nebraska Heart Association.

    Jerry was a great man as I remember i know he is missed by many. Great baseball coach. Sorry for your loss.
