Tammy Jane Dober

Tammy Jane Dober

June 23, 1964- August 1, 2023

Tammy Jane Dober, 59, of Omaha Nebraska passed away, August 1, 2023. She was born to parents, Kenneth and Linda Kasat, on June 23 1964, in St. Paul, Minnesota. Tammy obtained her GED and received a Practical Nursing Degree from Kaplan University in 2008. She was married to Danny Dober in 2003. Tammy is survived by three children: Zachary Fitzpatrick, Frank Schutte and Cheyenne Dober; 10 grandchildren. Tammy was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Dober in 2006.

Tammy has been through many ups and downs throughout her life, but no matter what the odds were she was always able to overcome them. Despite the setbacks Tammy achieved her goal of obtaining a nursing degree. From there she got a job at Golden Living where she spent many years taking care of amazing patients. After some time Tammy moved on to work at CHI Health at Home where she worked as an Intake Coordinator. She continued her education while working at CHI and eventually obtained her LPN as well as a promotion. Tammy was incredibly proud of her accomplishments, as were her family.

Family was Tammy’s passion, she was a beloved mother and grandmother. She had four beautiful children: Zachary Fitzpatrick, Frank Schuette, Kenneth Dober, and Cheyenne Dober; and 10 amazing grandchildren. She spent as much time as she could with her children, as well as with her sister, Tracy Kasat; brother, Scott Kasat; and her parents, Linda and Kenny Kasat. She loved to spend weekends at the Pheasant Bar & Grill, or at her father’s bar right in his very own backyard. If you asked her where her absolute favorite place to be was, she would say the beach. She was at peace when she was sitting in the sand, the ocean breeze hitting her face, the sun beaming down on her skin.

For the last two years Tammy was fighting stage 4 breast cancer. She went through several different kinds of chemotherapy but ended up deciding to forgo treatment altogether almost 8 months ago. She wanted to live her life the way she wanted to. Tammy was an incredible woman who will be missed by many.

Her funeral will be at Heafey Hoffmann Dworak Cutler, located at 7805 W Center Rd, Omaha, NE, on Saturday the 12th at 4:30pm.

“I made it Home” by unknown

“I just wanted to let you know that

I made it home.

Everything is so pretty here,

so white, so fresh, so new.

I wish that you could close

your eyes so you could see it too.

Please try not to be sad for me.

Try to understand.

God is taking care of me…

I’m in the shelter of His hands.

Here there is no sadness

and no sorrow, and no pain.

Here there is no crying,

and I’ll never hurt again.

Here it is so peaceful,

when all the angels sing.

I really have to go for now…

I’ve just got to try my wings.

P.S… I’ll be the first face

you see when you get here!”

Our condolences to all of Tammy’s family. She was an incredible person. Strong, patient, loving, forgiving, gentle and I’m proud to say I knew her. The last few months she was there for me when I was depressed and down even though she was was going thru her own illness. She was an amazing friend, mother, grandmother and she always shined! I’m gonna miss our talks “Sunshine”. We love you and are going to miss you. Give Kenny a hug for us.
