Matthew D. Pick
December 30, 1966- May 31, 2024
Matthew “Matt” Dean Pick was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on December 30, 1966, to Gerald and Jolene Pick. He attended Central High in Omaha, Nebraska, and lived in or around Omaha his whole life. He met his wife, Teresa, in 1993 and they raised five children together, Matthew L. Pick (Matt’s son with Dawn Dvorak), Christopher Guy (Matt’s stepson), Brandon L. Pick, Stephanie R. Guy, and Haley E. Pick.
Matt was a man of strong faith in God. He was a passionate, generous, and good man with a big heart. He loved his family and his children. He loved music (the band Rush was his favorite), video games, animals, and building things. He worked for many years for Thole, Inc. (a/k/a Rock Solid Poured Walls). He enjoyed watching movies starring Bruce Lee, John Wayne and Clint Eastwood, which reminded him of his father. He was also a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Matt suddenly passed on May 31, 2024, at the age of 57. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Jolene Pick; brothers, Jay and Paul Pick; sister, Amy Cromer. Matt is survived by his wife, Teresa Pick; children: Matthew L. Pick, Brandon L. Pick, Stephanie R. Guy, and Haley E. Pick; stepson, Christopher Guy; grandchildren; brother, Tony Pick; sisters, Joy Janssen, Angela Turner; and his many nieces and nephews.
He will be missed by his family and friends. May he Rest in Peace.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERIVCE: Saturday, June 8, 2024, 3:00PM at West Center Chapel, 7805 West Center Road, Omaha.

Matt was one of my oldest friends been great great friends since 6th grade He use to call me on Saturday morning and howl and tell me the cartoon fang face was on, I recall having sleep overs at the Pick Mansion when I was a young kid His Dad was the first person I ever seen make homemade doughnuts 🍩 for us, I considered Matt and his Beautiful sisters as my own family and them the same we would go ice skating at Aksarben Ice rink on the weekends when we were kids, Matt enjoyed scripture, and was hungry for the Lords word, He was a very hard worker and took pride in putting in a tough days work he enjoyed helping others even when he had nothing he still wanted to give I will miss him our visits as phone calls… i regret not being able to attend in person I am hours away and recovering from a serious work injury making it uncomfortable to travel
But please know my thoughts and prayers are with each of you reading this in your most impossible time
