Elliott R. Fisher, Jr.

Elliott R. Fisher, Jr.

September 6, 1948  –  June 19, 2024

Elliott was born and raised in Omaha, NE. He attended various Catholic schools when he was young and graduated from Benson High School in 1966. He went on to learn the art and skill of metal fabrication by becoming a welder at Union Pacific Railroad.

He was the type of person who never knew a stranger. He showed kindness to all who crossed his path. His biggest passion was sports. In the cold months, he was devoted to watching all the football games with a special love for Nebraska Cornhuskers and Washington Redskins. He loved the College World Series and golf when spring and summer came around. When he wasn’t watching sports, he took great pride in making his yard and flower gardens look magnificent. The backyard was his oasis, and one of his greatest joys was watching all the wildlife that came to visit. Various birds, squirrels, groundhogs, possums, and raccoons knew they could get a good meal. He fed them all. Elliott was a good friend, neighbor, husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed by many.

Elliott was preceded in death by his parents, Elliott R. Fisher Sr. and Raye Fisher, who reunited with him in the afterlife.

He is survived by his wife, Denise Fisher; daughter, Erin Fisher; siblings and spouses: Terry and Bill Kovacs, Elkhorn, NE, Dennis Fisher, Tucson, AZ, Raye (Lil) Fisher, Omaha, NE; nieces and nephews: Billy and Robyn Kovacs, Andrea and Andrew Crain, Cortney Eurek; grandson, Xander Fisher; and many dear friends.

Please bring your stories and join us for a memorial service and time of sharing on Saturday, July 27th at 2:00 p.m. at the West Center Chapel, 7805 West Center Road, Omaha.

We are so thankful we were able to spend time with Elliott and Denise shortly before this horrible disease did its worst. Elliott was a kind, empathetic, and lovely person that we are angry was taken much too soon. May his light while on Earth never be extinguished.

Elliott was my brother in law He was the kindest most gentle man with a mischievous sense of humor. I’am very blessed to call him a friend and a brother.. I know his absence has left a hole in many people’s hearts. It has mine💔
