A. Louise Strehle

A. Louise Strehle

September 11, 1940-August 9, 2024

September 11, 1940-August 9, 2024, Louise Strehle (Maguire), age 83, passed away in Allen, TX on the morning of August 9, 2024 at home with family. She was born September 11, 1940 to loving parents Francis and Patricia (Duffy) Maguire.

Louise was born and lived in Omaha, NE most of her life.  She graduated from Mercy High School in Omaha in 1958.  Following a long-distance engagement, she was joined in marriage to Bernard Strehle in 1961.  As her sons grew older, she worked at the Internal Revenue Service in Taxpayer Services then advanced to higher responsibilities.  After living 78 years in Omaha, in October of 2018 she made the bold step of moving to Allen, TX which allowed her to spend more time with her grandchildren.

Louise loved the Lord, the Roman Catholic Church, the Latin Mass, lifelong learning, and a good book.  She would often volunteer at church, at the cancer clinic at Omaha’s Immanuel hospital, and to help people with tax preparation.  And her love for her family was clear to all.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband Bernard Strehle, parents Francis and Patricia (Duffy) Maguire, brother Edward Maguire, sister-in-law Betty (Schlenz) Maguire, and brother-in law Richard Ruzicka.

Louise is survived by sons Lt Col Steve Strehle, USAF (Ret), LTC Mark Strehle (Karen), USA (Ret), and Ed Strehle (Gail); grandchildren Kathryn Vannornam (Ryan), Meghan Taborsky (Nick), Nikolas Strehle, Alexander Strehle, Victoria Strehle, Virginia Strehle, and Benjamin Strehle; sisters Sarah Ruzicka, Leah Maguire, Sister Shannon Maguire, OSU; cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She will be greatly missed by us all.  But we are comforted by our hope and confidence in an eternity in the Lord’s presence.

REQUIEM MASS: Friday, August 16, 2024, at 11:00AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2708 S. 24th Street, Omaha, with a ROSARY beginning at 9:30AM and VISITATION beginning at 10:00AM.

INTERMENT: Forest Lawn Cemetery

Dear Strehle Family, we are very sorry for the loss of your dear mother, mother-in-law, and grandma Louise. We did not know her personally but heard many fondly remembered stories of her related by her son Steve. She lived an exemplary life, full of faith and dedication to God and her family. She was a mother to look up to and set a good example for us all. It is always hard to lose a parent, especially one so obviously loved.
Please know Louise and all of you are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. May Dear God grant eternal heavenly rest to her and grant peace to you all.

I first knew Louise 6 years ago when she came to Parkview In Allen here in Allen, Texas.
She was a classy lady and I count it such a privilege to be counted among her many friends. Louise will be so missed and especially me. We has so many good conversations, religion, politics, our children and grandchildren and of course we both knew how to have a good laugh. Please accept my sincere condolences and know that her family will be in my prayers. Love you sweet friend!

I’m so very sorry to hear of the passing of your mother, grandmother and friend. I worked with Bernie at MUD. I could tell that Bernie and Louise were very much in love the way Bernie talked about Louise. May they both relish in the gift of eternal life that our Heavenly Father has prepared for the both of them together.

I’m sorry to hear about Aunt Louise passing. I have so many fond memories of her and how supportive she was when I lost my husband. Memories not only as my Aunt, but also as my God Mother. May God be with you in this difficult time.

    Steve and Family,

A mother’s love is the greatest gift we receive. You are blessed to have such a caring lady to call Mother. Our prayers are with you in this time of grief. Your mother was so proud to have y’all as her sons. I hope you can find some comfort in the love she had for you and shared with those around you. You will always remember the unconditional love of your mother. That is a memory that will live on forever because Mothers never truly leave us. You need only look in your heart and she will be there.

Donna Woodard and your DMW Military Family, Avalon CHP Family
    Bless you,
