Adam Alexander Koch

Adam Alexander Koch

April 27, 1977 – September 5, 2024

Adam Alexander Koch was born on April 27th, 1977, in Minneapolis, MN to Michael and Susan Koch. The Koch family moved to Omaha in 1983 when Adam was 6 years old, and he attended Millard Public Schools, graduating from Millard North High School in 1995. Throughout his youth, Adam performed and toured with a juggling troupe, participated in school plays and played the trombone in the school band. Adam attended Pennsylvania State University where he received a Bachelor of Science
degree in Electrical Engineering. He found a passion in working with computers and enjoyed being a software designer/computer programmer throughout his career.

On December 28th, 2002, Adam married Christi Nelsen. They welcomed into their family a daughter, Alyssa, in 2004 and a son, Joel, in 2007.

Adam loved anything challenging. He was drawn to puzzles and riddles, loved board games and supported any purchase Christi made that required him to put something together/build something. Adam had a heart for giving and helping. He loved
supporting charities that he believed in, volunteering with dog rescues and helping outfriends and neighbors any time he could. He had a fondness for Dad jokes and spending time with his family. He looked forward to weekly board gaming sessions with
friends and being creative with technology. Most recently he loved taking on the role of Ba to Finley, born in March 2024. He especially loved to read Piggie and Gerald books to her, just like he did to Alyssa and Joel when they were young.

Preceded in death by his brother, Ben, maternal grandparents Norm and Donna Yoset, paternal grandfather Floyd Koch, father-in-law Norm Nelsen and sister-in-law Joni Dille.

Adam is survived by his wife Christi, children Alyssa and Joel and granddaughter Finley, parents, Michael and Susan Koch, brother, Chris (Rachelle) Koch, brother-in-law Mark Nelsen, mother-in-law Sandy Nelsen, paternal grandmother Virginia Koch, Aunt Nancy (Al) Vicere and Uncle Tom Yoset as well as nieces, Brandy Nelsen and Gemma Koch and nephew, Gus Koch.

He will be greatly missed by other relatives and many friends.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 10th from 5-8PM at West Center Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to kiva.org, one of
Adam’s favorite missions to support.

Sending all my love and prayers as you cope with this sudden and tragic loss. Adam was dear to us as former neighbors and he will be missed by many.

As I sat down to think about what to write to honor Adam, I was overwhelmed by a flood of nearly 35 years of memories. From the early days of “this one time at band camp” – in the very best way – to our later visits and adventures with Christi and our friends, and then with our kids, Adam is one of my oldest friends and someone that made my life better because he was in it. Rest easy Adam Kocheroo – I hope you have found your peace.

It was a pleasure being a weekly member of the board game crew. He will be missed.

I wish I lived closer to give you the warmest, most loving hug Christi. My wish is that your 20+ years of memories and fun and knowing Adam is at peace can bring you solace. You know I will be here for you and the kids! Always. Love you so much! xo
