My plans to come to Omaha for the services for Al have been derailed. I always had the highest respect for Al as a friend and enjoyed visiting and being around him.I know he loved his family and he showed a deep love for Pats and that followed thru to his family. He had a genuine faith in God and passed that on to his family and all around him. He enjoyed coming to Iowa in the fall especially to see the crop and talk farming. I enjoyed the summer picnics, always in the fall and many weddings and other family gatherings. When Mary and I got married and we had Christmas in the house on the farm it was a real house full. Judy and Janet were in our wedding and I especially remember the picture in the trellis in Buddes neighbors back yard. last Friday while working on a farm mower I somehow fell and fractured a rib. They don’y heal very fast and I’m so sorry to miss saying good-bye to Al.

I wish I could have been there for the services. I really enjoyed getting to know Al and Pats better after my daughters decided to attend Creighton and I had the opportunity to visit them in Omaha. Al was a wonderful storyteller and a genuinely kind man — very loving to his wife and family. Chris and I send our sincere sympathy to all six children, your spouses, and the grandchildren. God bless you all.
